In Flanders a "Museum" is also "Museum". But the plural is "Musea", not "Museums". In Wallonia you will read "Musée" (plural: "Musées").
The selected museums are rather well spread over the whole territory, so wherever you stay in the country, there will always be a museum at a reasonable distance.

2 Bakery and Steam Museum in Essen. Next to the old windmill from 1982 are the bakery museum, a traditional bakery, and the Steam museum. There is also a tavern-restaurant on the site. Open from Tuesday - Sunday from 10 AM - 6 PM.
3 Seafront Maritime Park in Bruges. Interactive exhibition about the sea and all its facets. Housed in a former fish market. Possibility to visit the lightship "Westhinder" and a Russian submarine. Open: daily from 10 AM - 6 PM.
4 Polder Museum Lillo-Fort in Antwerp. In 34 halls from the museum one can discover the history and life in the disappeared and the still existing villages in the polder. Open from Easter - September 30 on Sundays and on public holidays from 1 PM - 6 PM.
5 Nature Educational Center "De Wulp" in Neerpelt. The Center lies just South of a 200 ha big nature area in the transition from dry sand grounds to the valley of the river Dommel. From the center one can follow some walking routes through the nature area. Open every Saturday and Sunday from 2 PM - 6 Pm.
6 Bee-keeping Museum in Kalmthout. All about traditional bee-keeping, as it was exercised for centuries in the region. The museum has a collection of apiaries from all over the world. Open during weekends. From November - March from 2 PM - 5 PM. Rest of the year from 10 AM - 5 PM. During Easter holidays and Summer holidays open daily from 10 AM - 5 PM.
7 Isotopolis in Dessel. Information Center where the control and the processing of radioactive wastes is presented in a structural and comprehensive way. Only to be visited by groups by appointment.
8 National Maritime Museum "Het Steen" in Antwerp. "Het Steen" (from about 1200) is the oldest building in Antwerp. A collection of old and modern ship's models, prints, charts, and maritime utensils. The open-air part consists of several ships on dry land. Open from Tuesday - Sunday from 10 AM - 5 PM.
9 Etnographic Museum in Antwerp. The collection contains objects from several cultures from Africa, Asia, Oceania, and North and South America. Open from Tuesday - Sunday from 10 AM - 5 PM.
10 Provincial Diamonds Museum in Antwerp. Shows the history of the stone, the diamond treatment, diamond trade, and the role of Antwerp as a world center of diamond treatment and trade. Open from Thursday - Tuesday from 10 AM - 5.30 PM.
11 Rubens' House in Antwerp. This is the 17th century patrician house of Pieter Paul Rubens. Nowadays it is a museum with paintings from Rubens and his closest co-workers. The beautiful garden is like a garden in Rubens' period. Open from Tuesday - Sunday from 10 AM - 5 PM.
